365.73: BMW 2002
Another BMW 2002 in my neighborhood. This one is often parked in front of the Tea Lounge on Union Street.

Bowling during league night at The Gutter in Williamsburg/Greenpoint.
The production was pretty cool. With video projections and what not. The militaristic set—I think the Times described it as “equal parts abbatoir, hospital, and dungeon”—reminded me a lot of the Stargate planet Kelowna and the Stargate Atlantis civilization of the Genai—both militaristic people using technology and design reminiscent of the ’40s. Everything happened on [...]
365.64: Driving, originally uploaded by Adam "Slice" Kuban. Coming back from bowling. Took out a Toyota Matrix via Zipcar. Scored a 166 tonight. My highest in a while. Still doesn’t come close to my onetime 180 average when I bowled on a youth league in grade school.
365.62: Snowy Night, originally uploaded by Adam "Slice" Kuban. Yeah. It’s another lame shot. I realized I hadn’t taken anything today and shot this on the way back to my apartment. In this weather, I didn’t feel like ranging wide and far to find something better.

I’ve cut back to the New York Times Weekender subscription. Actually, probably not even the Weekender, because I don’t think I get the Friday paper. I’m going to cancel altogether, as it’s cheaper just to buy the Sunday Times at the bodega than to have it delivered.
As I was walking home from the pharmacy (picking up Mucinex—I’ve got a cold), I saw a bit of a gathering of seniors ahead. Ah! Fifth Avenue Bingo, of course. They were waiting to get in just before opening. I’ve actually played bingo here, and it’s pretty fun. Fairly low-stakes. It would be fun to [...]
Super Savers, RIP. This place had the best selection of toiletries and such. It had a lot of weird, high-end, and obscure beauty products. Before Old Spice enjoyed its resurgence, it was my go-to spot for the old-man aftershave. And it had great natural-bristle Swiss toothbrushes with cool graphics. Sad to see it go.
