365.28: The Smartest Footwear I Own

by Adam Kuban

I bought these things last winter at the Bass Pro Shop in Olathe. Up till then, I didn’t have any good winter footwear. These are great. I don’t have to worry about rainy days or snowy, slushy ones. And they were only $40.

Unfortunately, the right one now has a small gash in it, so I have to be more careful about where I go walking.

Funny enough, when I lived in Portland, Oregon, where it rains all the time (gentle rain, mind you), I often wore Converse All Stars. Totally not a great footwear choice. I mean, hello, canvas? I’d also often walk holes into the soles of my shoes. And there’s nothing worse than walking in the rain with a hole in the sole of your shoe. Yech.
